Faxing using MaxFax

Summary

This procedure will show you how to fax from MaxFax – the State Bar of Michigan’s digital faxing service.

 

Prerequisite

You will need access to the fax mailbox.  The configured faxing mailboxes are:

 

Note:

  • Accepted fax attachment file formats: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .rtf
  • The maximum file size is 10 MB
  • Information from the text area will not be sent.  Any information that needs to be sent must be included in your attachment.
  • To fax a local number, the 1 is not required i.e. <area code> + <number>@faxtrunk.us
  • To fax long distance, you must include the 1 i.e. 1 + <area code> + <number>@faxtrunk.us
  • You will receive a message if the fax is unsuccessful
  • You will NOT receive a message if the fax was successful

 

Procedure
Sending a Fax

  1. Create your fax, including any cover letter, in one of the accepted file formats.
  2. In Outlook, create a new email and address it to [receiving fax number]@faxtrunk.us.

Example, to send a fax to 408-597-9020, email to: [email protected]

  1. Change the From to one of the configured email addresses (above). 
  2. Attach the file that you want to send.
  3. Click Send

 

Receiving a Fax
When receiving a fax, the leading “1” is required, 15173720403.
